The excerpt begins with the presenter Jan introducing the topic of platform shoes and boots for the winter and spring seasons. She talks with Stuart Sutton, a representative of Lotus Shoe manufacturers. They discuss various styles of shoes and heel height. We also see some of the recent styles modelled on a catwalk. Jan and Stuart then look at some examples of historical platform shoes and examples from other countries. The final part of the film shows a shoe that was made for an elephant and there is a photograph of the elephant wearing the shoe.
