Views from a car driving through streets covered in snow in Tenbury Wells town centre during the 'Big Freeze' of early 1963. We then see a group of young people dancing in a youth club. Next we see an advertising promotion in which a Tide washing power man wearing a white suit knocks on a door. He gives cash to a housewife who produces a box of Tide.
The next section shows a small fete with stalls, a fortune teller and a children's fancy dress parade. There is a demonstration of how to make an ice cream sundae. Back outside we see stalls being covered as it starts to rain and then the ATV presenter Pat Astley signing autographs. A Punch and Judy show from Eric Verconi is also seen. This is followed by another brief shot of teenagers dancing in a hall.
Next at a carnival we see a demonstration of clay pigeon shooting followed by views of a motorcycle stunt riding display. A civic event follows which appears to show the dedication of a bench - a group of older residents are seen sitting on it and are given drinks. The next section is filmed from a television set and shows a news item from September 1963 where pubs in the town competeted against each other to build the highest possible tower of pennies to raise money for the Freedom from Hunger campaign.
Another carnival follows including shots of the personality Ted Moult being driven past a crowd, a marching band, army vehicles and a lorry transporting a carnival queen. There is a fancy dress parade for children and we also see a helicopter from the Central Flying School landing in a field. Another motorcycle stunt display follows which this time includes riders jumping through flames, sausages cooking on a barbecue and a go kart race.
The next section shows a jazz band playing in a hall and people dancing followed by people swimming and diving in a lido. A baking demonstration making a harvest festival bread lattice which is followed by flower displays inside a church and the bread on display on the alter. The final section shows lights being put on the town's Christmas tree and Father Christmas arriving in the town centre in a horse and cart. He parks outside the Round Market where a crowd including choir singers have gathered. The final shots show Christmas lights in Tenbury Wells at night.
