Description

A title gives the dates for the pageant as June 16th to June 25th 1932. We see various scenes taking place in Abbey Park involving people wearing costumes ranging from Roman soldiers to the Victorian era. There are mock battles, knights in armour and an appearance by Stevenson's Rocket steam locomotive. Intertitle: 'Leicester Pageant Week June 1932'. We then see a crowd gathering for the roasting of a bullock (in Granby Place?) (that includes a visit by black Canadian heavyweight boxer Larry Gains who was based in Leicester at the time) and then a parade of vehicles and decorated floats advertising local industries.
