We see scenes from a pageant - Nottingham Through the Ages - including the story of Robin Hood and a maypole dance. We also see a display of dancing at the Castle (including traditional country dancing, a can can and a waltz), with the Sheriff, Alderman Littlefair, looking on. We then see shots of a trade exhibition with a demonstration of a knitting machine, a display of lace and a merry-go-round.
This is followed by shots of a diving display from a platform erected on the river at Trent Bridge and crowds watching from the steps of the Embankment.
We then see night-time shots of the Council House and Trent Bridge. The sequence closes with further shots of the pageant.
