Description

Library pictures of a student rag parade and graduation ceremony. A group of students sit in a room and discuss their experiences at university. Many are critical of the type of education they received and how they were not taught to think creatively and were merely required to take down notes. There is also an academic from a technical college who talks to camera about the hierarchy of higher education from Oxford and Cambridge at the top through the 'red brick' universities and down to the technical colleges. We also hear the views of a man who since graduating with a degree in Classics has found work as a personnel officer with an engineering firm. We see him at work and hear him describe the usefulness of his education. He is seen in his office and visiting the shop floor.
