Description

We see David Rees with a woman and her child taking a journey from the Birmingham area to Market Drayton by three different forms of transport: car (a Mini); bus; and rail. For the car journey we see them filling the Mini with petrol and driving towards the M6 motorway passing road works. The bus journey involves the trio boarding a Midland Red single decker bus and later they're seen getting on to a coach with a Newcastle under Lyme destination board before they are deposited outside a bus depot. The train journey (by diesel unit) involves a change at Stourbridge Junction. We also see heavy traffic in the Birmingham area. The item ends with interviews with a man from a bus company about congestion; Mr Baker from a road haulage company about the lorry versus train debate; and an unnamed planner about the overall transport policy.
