Description

The report opens with mute library pictures showing vandalised buildings. These are likely to include Midlands News items - Metchley Grange at Harborne (22 April 1960); prefabs (2 June 1960) and the bent fingers of the clock at St Philips cathedral in Birmingham (November 1958). Richard Thompson then vox pops people on a street who are asked their views on vandalism and the perpetrators of such incidents (answers including bringing back 'the cat'). This is followed by an interview with a member of British Transport Police in the West Midlands about damage to railway carriages whilst they are parked in sidings. We see views of vandalised trains. Final interview is with Alderman Powell who talks about damaged trees and the assault to a local park keeper. Views of saplings in Braunstone Park.
