Description

We see posters advertising wrestling events in Birmingham (including one for Shirley Crabtree - who later changed his stage name to Big Daddy). There are several shots of wrestling in a ring in front of a crowd throughout the report (although some are cut and have been removed). Simon Smith interviews Roy Davis (nicknamed 'The Farmer' despite being a former asphalter), a professional wrestler from Plymouth. Reg Harcourt interviews wrestlers Ricky Waldo who defends his sport; Chuck Holden (?) who used to be a boxer; Lord Bertie Topham (whose gimmick is a monocle and full time valet); and Chief Moritana (?) who claims to be a Maori Chief from New Zealand. There are also vox pops with wrestling fans about the appeal of the sport.
