Richard Thompson visits Joseph Sanley who runs a fishing tackle and pet shop at Northfield. In an interview he explains how he was forced to move out of Smallbrook Street in the city centre when it was redeveloped. Thompson then visits W.Proctor, a tailors business run by a Mr Turner that also used to be on Smallbrook Street that can now be found on Cannon Street. Mr Stanley talks about the difficulty of finding new premises and the high rents being charged. He also says that Cannon Street is due for redevelopment so he will have to move again. Views of old buildings in the Dale End area. Finally Thompson talks to Mr Jones who runs E.H. Jones Ltd, a wine merchants who have been in Dale End since 1868. He explains that he was told in 1946 that the area was to be rebuilt and they would have to relocate but they have yet to find a suitable building.
