Description

We open with shots back stage at a pantomime. Using stop-motion film effects and wires the props 'come to life'. Next seated behind a desk Emile Littler talks to camera about his early days as a producer of pantomimes. As he tells anecdotes about some of the shows he put on at the Prince of Wales theatre in Birmingham we see extracts from his own silent home movies including Stanley Holloway, David Burnaby and Cora Goffin in Aladdin in 1934, the Houston sisters (Billie and Renee) in Babes in the Wood and an elaborate rotating stage effect that was created for Humpty Dumpty.
