Shots of children walking to school,, leaving at home time and in a playground. Views of a boy with his homework. Richard Thompson visits a Secondary Modern school where he talks to the head teacher about the eleven plus system and then to a group of sixth form boys about their views on the education system and the fact that they didn't get to attend a grammar school. Thompson then visits a second school which is co-educational and also a comprehensive school where he talks to the headmaster Mr Gaylon (likely to be Stonehill School at Birstall). He also vox pops children about their school. The end section are street vox pops about the effectiveness of the eleven plus system.
