Description

Picture roll A shows various people talking to camera about health issues. Prominently featured is an older man who is a former miner forced to retire on health grounds due to a lung condition. He talks about working conditions during the 1910s and 1920s and the lung problems caused by an exposure to dust. Also featured are doctors who talk about the improved health of the younger generation and the eradication of diphtheria. There is talk about cancer and heart diseases remaining the biggest killers. The B roll footage shows mute rooftop shots of terraced houses and a pottery kiln followed by a school playground and then several mute shots of young people dancing the twist in a club.
