Description

The opening section is b/w and begins with two children playing on a swing in a back garden. We then cut to see the two children standing on Kilby Bridge on Welford Road at Wigston in Leicestershire. The railway line is visible behind. We then see a family group walking along the tow-path of the Grand Union canal at Wigston picking flowers.

The remainder of the reel is colour. We see adults and children paddling in the sea, children at a funfair and sitting on donkeys. A short section shows a group sitting down to a children's tea party (held in a house at Countesthorpe). We then cut back to holiday views showing a competition for young children followed by a beauty contest and a fancy dress contest held on the beach (the location is the Squires Gate holiday camp near Blackpool). An amphibious vehicle arrives from the sea (the people on board are wearing dark make-up and proceed to storm the beach. They then dance with women wearing hula skirts. The final sections show a paddling pool and further shots of children splashing in the waves.
