A commentary describes the festival which was held from 6 to 16 July in Smethwick as part of the Home - School - Links project. We begin with views of a carnival held at Brasshouse Lane which includes children taking part in theatre projects with members of Jubilee Arts and performances in a marquee from a steel band and male voice choir. In a school building we also see a demonstration of spinning and weaving and a jazz band performing.
The next section shows the Jubilee Arts theatre group performing at a school as part of the festival and then events from an international evening held at George Betts School including a dance group (Tolunka) performing to a Michael Jackson song, Morris dancers, a folk group and also a performance from the Wolverhampton reggae band 'Progression'.
