Description

Dr. Maire O’Shea talks about coming to England in the 1950’s to work as a doctor. She goes on to describe life in Ireland for women at the time. Dr. O’Shea explains the intricacies of the Irish healthcare system - Noël Browne and ‘Mother and Child’ legislation in particular. She details her first jobs in the British healthcare system and the racism she encountered, both in the workplace and day to day life.
