Description

We see Tony Robinson arriving at the Nottingham Council House in his official car. Inside the building he is seen having his robes adjusted and he talks to Vera Gilbert about his background. Robinson was born in Jamaica coming to England in 1960. In Nottingham he became a bus driver for Nottingham City Transport. We see his b/w passport photo, a still of him at work and views of buses in Nottingham. (A section of black covers library pictures). After a view of Old Market Square we see colour stills showing Robinson as a councillor. He is then see looking at the Robin Hood statue with Vera and entering Nottingham Castle. B/w stills of actors who have played Robin Hood and the sheriff (cut to the Robin Hood theme music). A section of black covers library pictures from Central News. We then see Robinson meeting visitors at the castle and there is an interview with his wife, Beryl Robinson about the people they have met. (The film is followed by a short section of extra shots that were not broadcast showing exhibits at Nottingham Castle cut to mediaeval music).
