Description

Hilary Minster piece to camera on Belgrave Road in Leicester talking about the popularity of Asian cinema. Minister visits the Natraj Cinema which was purpose built in 1974 and has been very successful until recently. Inside the cinema, where we see Bollywood posters, Minster talks to the manager Hiro Masana about the shows they put on which include screenings for women only. He goes on to talk about the problem of video piracy which has seen several of his film prints stolen. The cinema is losing £1,000 a week and facing a bleak future. We see inside the cinema with an audience arriving and views of the projectionist winding film and working in his booth. Minister wraps up the piece with another piece to camera from the stage.
