The rise in figures was revealed by the RSPCA at a press conference. Interview with Gavin Grant of the RSPCA who said that the society would rather educate people on how to keep pets properly rather than convict pet owners for cruelty. Interview with RSPCA inspector Gary Eastwood who talked about an ill-treated mongrel dog called Bower. Bower has now been cared for by the RSPCA and has recovered.
