Notes

The stunt was dreamt up in the Gardeners Arms in Evesham. According to local press reports Norman Staite managed to carry his sack of coal for twelve and a half miles from Spetchley to Evesham. Landlord Tony Massingham was carrying grain and Nicky Roberts managed two miles with his ferrets. One of the ferrets sank its teeth into his leg. His oversized trousers were borrowed from the twenty stone Mr Massingham.
