Description

Views of the new Rover 3500 on the road including driving past Spaghetti Junction. Interview with a sales executive for British Leyland who talks about the traditonal qualities of Rover and hopes that it will have wider appeal due to its styling. Aerial view of new factory extension at Rover in Solihull where the car is being assembled. The factory is half as big again as the NEC. Brief exterior view and then shots inside showing paint spraying and assembly of the car (the bodies are made at Castle Bromwich). Reg Harcourt then lets Eddie McGarry, top union leader at British Leyland, test drives the car and comments on the handling of it and also about relationships between management and workers. Finally there are vox pops with businessmen at Penns Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield, re their opinons of the new car.
