We see construction work at the Midlands Art Centre for Young People in Cannon Hill park. We cut to the Director of the facility, John English who sitting behind a desk describes the work of the centre and the future plans. During his piece to camera there are cut-aways to show young people taking part in art activities and also shots of a model of the whole centre. We then see the arrival of the royal car. From a stage at the centre Princess Margaret makes a speech and helped by the Lord Mayor opens the Ardencotes Arts Club by opening the stage curtain.
