Story relates to the murder of David Palmer whose body was found in Crofton Park, Birmingham in May 1964. He had been stabbed. The Gay Birmingham Remembered website has information about the crime and the subsequent police investigation. In April 1965 Patrick O'Sullivan issued a claim for damages against Birmingham CID over his wrongful arrest.
