Description

Shots of press photographers taking pictures of Mary Connors. She then climbs into her cannon and Bob Warman talks to her about her bid to cross the river (she admits to not being able to swim). We then see the failed attempt where Mary ended up in the river. After being picked up by the rescue boat Warman talks to her again about her future plans.

Mary Connors was the secretary of Joe Weston Webb, a Leicestershire showman and the owner of the human cannonball device (Weston-Webb was also featured in an ATV Today item on this day promoting his mud wrestling women). Connors returned in 1975 for a second attempt using a catapult.
