Shop stewards representing various tool room shops meet to discuss how they can support the British Leyland shop and propose a series of one day token strikes. Statement from a Lucas representative who confirms the Lucas toolroom workers' support and their planned one day stoppage on 21 March. Also an interview with union representative from the Reynolds (?) factory about the unanimous backing of his shop for the dispute.

British Leyland strikers' wives also support the strike. Interview with spokeswoman, Mrs. Sheila Dickens, about their support for their husbands, despite the 'work or be sacked' threat from the BL management.

Birfield Extrusions factory at Great Barr which is part of the GKN Group where 120 workers have staged a token one day strike. Exterior shots of the factory (+ Trims).

At the Rolls Royce factory on Nightingale Road in Derby 400 toolroom workers stage a token stoppage in support of the British Leyland dispute and also because of their own grievances. The AUEW East District Committee in Birmingham - reports that the union vote to support the British Leyland strikers despite a denial by the union's District Secretary, Ken Cure. Peter Plant interview with Mr. Cure who was non-committal about the resolution passed by his meeting and his belief that the strikers should return to work immediately because of the threat of national unemployment in supporting industries if the toolroom workers are sacked.
