We see a brief shot of a batsman practicing in the nets, wearing the new helmet. Phil Russell in interviewed by Tony Maycock about the incident the day before which happened while he was fielding. He broke his cheekbone and chipped a tooth and the ball got stuck between the bars.

Had he not worn the helmet his injures would have been much worse. They did appeal for the catch as the ball was lodged in the helmet. The helmets have since been modified to move the bars closer together.

David Harrison is also interviewed about the modifications needed to the helmet in light of Russell's unique accident.
