Description

The Green family used to live in Birmingham. Financial problems caused them to leave the city and live in a caravan at Upton in Staffordshire. When they were evicted from this Stafford Rural District Council found them emergency accommodation in a house within the closed RAF Seighford at Ladfordfields near Stafford. The conditions are poor with damp and a lack of hot water. Mr Green recently walked from Stafford to the ATV studios in Birmingham to seek help for the family. The Greens have five children. Interview with Councillor Fairweather, Chairman of the Rural District Council about the lack of decent accommodation in the area and with Mr and Mrs Green about their financial situation and housing problems which Barbara Blake likens at the start of the report to 'Cathy Come Home'.
