Description

Simon Halsey and Francis Grier are both young directors of music working at university establishments. They were both appointed in 1981: 22-year-old Halsey as Director of Music at Warwick University; and 25-year-old Grier as Director of Music at Christ Church in Oxford.

The film is made up of interviews with Halsey and Grier about their backgrounds, roles and musical work. We also see both walking around their respective universities.

Halsey is shown conducting an orchestra and choir at Warwick University rehearsing a performance of Verdi's Requiem.

Grier is seen conducting the choir of Christ Church Cathedral and playing the cathedral's organ.
