Shots the NCB steam locomotive 'Peter' at work at Lindby Colliery near Hucknall. We then see a chimney at the closed Langton Colliery near Kirkby in Ashfield being prepared for demolition. We also see the rubble following the demolition (but not the chimney actually falling). We then see a British Rail coal train with wagons being loaded at Bentinck Colliery and views of a falcon that was used to remove pigeons at the same colliery. Finally we see breakfast at the Bentinck managers' office during a strike Sunday.
