Description

Shot of Leslie Dunn entering the West End Cinema (a Gaumont cinema on Suffolk Street in Birmingham). Inside he interviews Mr Green, the manager and also the chief projectionist Tony Wood about the success of the film South Pacific that they have been screening for twelve months. Wood talks about the Todd AO process and we see a shot of a member of staff winding through a reel of the 70mm film and lacing the projector. Dunn then talks to customers in the foyer who have all seen the film several times.

Establishing shots of Birmingham Town Hall and shot of poster for a tour by musicians from the Newport Jazz Festival. Leslie Dunn then interviews the American promotor Willis Conover about the American festival and its touring version.
