Since the closure there has been a campaign to bring new industry to the town and 5,000 jobs have since been created. Despite this unemployment remains high. View of the concrete shopping centre which is to be redeveloped. Vox pops with shoppers disappointed by the state of the existing precinct. Interview with Maurice Hart of the New Towns Commission about the new shopping centre. He describes the old one as being out of date. Further shots of the shopping precinct which is to be covered over. Library shot of a model of the £200 million Wonderworld theme park project which has yet to see the light of day.
