Description

Lionel Hampden provides several pieces to camera throughout the report describing the transport issues in the hamlet of Consall Forge in the Churnet Valley. The nearby Consall railway station and railway line were recently closed by British Railways and the only way into the hamlet of twenty five people is via a private toll road or on foot down a steep flight of steps.

We see Hampden descending the 204 steps into Consall Forge, shots of the closed railway line, the private toll road owned by a Mr Henry Podmore, rural countryside, the River Churnet and the Caldon Canal which meet close to the Black Lion pub in the village. We also see abandoned lime kilns.
