Description

We see a three of the vehicles parked (at the time known as invalid carriages). There are two Invacars and the third is a Tippen Delta (made in Coventry). Bev Smith talks to two motoring journalists (Jack and Peter) about the safety fears of the three wheeled vehicles and Jack is shown how to start one of the Invacars. We see the cars driving in convoy and Bev finished the report by interviewing three disabled drivers who are also critical of the designs (including Mrs Goodman whose car broke down 72 times in six weeks).

Notes

In the 1970s Invacars were owned by the Government and leased to disabled drivers. The lease scheme was phased out from 1977 and during 2003 all of the surviving three wheeled motorcycle engined Invacars became illegal to drive on British roads.
