Exterior shots of Kettering Grammar School (with Morse code type noises added). Inside Lionel Hampden sees the work being done to track Russian satellites. He talks to teacher Derek Slater about their work and how they started and to a pupil about the data they collect. Lionel then talks to the head of the physics department Geoffrey Perry about tracking Russian Cosmos satellites. He plays back a recording of Cosmonauts on board Vostok 1.

The station was set up by physics master Geoffrey Perry. The story of Mr Perry and his students tracking satellites and subsequently discovering a secret Soviet launch site is told in the Channel 4 programme Sputniks, Bleeps and Mr. Perry which was transmitted on 25 March 1987.
