We see eighty year old Charles Ellis from Sutton in Ashfield who does sponsored long distance walking. Interview with eighty four year old Sybil Canadine from Cheltenham, who was a pioneer of Girl Guide movement having set up her own group back in 1909. B/w and colour stills of her career with the Guides . She talks about how she met Lord Baden-Powell and set up the first girl guides and how she now helps families of Vietnamese refugees. Shot of Sybil Canadine in a school playground with a group of Vietnamese refugees.

Reg Fenner, aged seventy, from Hereford, does charity swimming, beekeeping and makes wine. Shots of him swimming at Hereford baths. Oldbury's Peggy Bamfield is a counsellor for the Brook Advisory Centre in Birmingham. She is seen on the telephone in her office. Seventy seven year old Harry Davis from Smethwick has raised money for a social club for children with learning difficulties. Shots of him at home. Eighty nine year old Alan Lea from Coventry was painting the outside of his house on scaffolding and he is also shown making dolls houses which he sells for charity. Brief interview with Mr Lea.
