We open with two children leading the guests down a flight of stairs. Everyone wears a sailor's hat. The men are wearing dinner jackets and some have medals. Around a large table the diners read messages from cards and there are a number of toasts. We see a joint of meat being carved and the guests eating around the large table. We also see a Christmas pudding being lit and brief shots after the meal of a slapstick film being projected. The final scenes show the men from the party smoking cigars and playing snooker.
