This download to own file was transferred from a 12 minute film insert which would have originally been part of a longer documentary about the anti nuclear movement.
The opening shot is of a city skyline which cuts to a graphic flash and then views of a empty crater. We then see a section of library film (probably sourced from ITN) showing various anti nuclear protests and marches. We see the CND march to Aldermaston; a large rally in Trafalgar Square, London including a speech by Michael Foot; protests outside the Ministry of Defence in London including an interview with Bertrand Russell; canoeists attempting to block the path of a ship; and protestors being arrested. The final section shows a Midlands CND protest march. Reg Harcourt vox pops about the anti-nuclear question including a member of Birmingham CND. There are comments about young people 'with jeans and guitars' at the protests.
