Film Description

This short silent film is a compilation of stock shots of locomotives filmed in, we believe, the late 1950s and early 1960s.

It includes shots of locomotives with the following BR numbers:

This includes strong shots of 45327 being maintained and cleaned by several men and similar brief maintenance shots of 76057.

It also includes brief shots of four locomotives at a shed together: Earl Baldwin, Haberfield Hall, Earl of Dunraven and Kingstone Grange; and shots of GWR locomotive 5369.

There are brief scenes of an unidentified locomotive with carriages crossing the River Severn through Llandinam, which are from the ATV programme Look Around: The River Severn, broadcast in 1960.

There are brief shots of trains arriving at two railway stations (one possibily Birmingham Snow Hill). There are also shots of the driver of locomotive 41900 passing the single line token (in its pouch with hoop) to the signalwoman at Tewkesbury Signal Box and shots inside the signal box of the token being turned in a token instrument.
