Central News reporter Malcolm Munro reports from the Great Central Railway at Loughborough where a group of rail enthusiasts have restored a 1937 Royal Mail carriage which now runs from Loughborough to Rothley carrying mail and uses special postbag catching equipment.
Interviews with Mike Sheppard, rail manager and guard of the train and Reg Rand, Leicester's assistant head postmaster, regarding the service the train provides. We see the restored mail coach with details of the postbag catching system. Views of steam hauled train leaving Loughborough and tracking shots from carriage. Plus trims (1 min 46 seconds).
