Description

Film shows production work on petrol tanks for Francis Barnett motorcycles at their subsidiary factory, Clarendon Pressing and Welding on Clarendon Street in Earlsdon, Coventry. We see the tank being welded, trim fitted and decorative paint applied. We then see the completed tank being fitted to a Falcon 74 motorcycle on the production line at Francis Barnett's main factory on Lower Ford Street in Coventry. It is ridden out of the factory by Dick Shade.

The Francis Barnett motorcycle factory was on Lower Ford Street in Coventry. Around 1962 production was moved to the James factory in Birmingham. Production of Francis Barnett motorcycles ceased in 1966.
