Current Board Members and Trustees

SUSAN MALDEN

Sue is an independent media archive management consultant. Formerly Head of BBC Broadcast Archives, she currently chairs the Federation of Commercial Audio Visual Archives (FOCAL International) and is a member of the Royal Television Society History Group.

JOHN BUCKBY

John is an IP lawyer with Spearing Waite in Leicester.

He also has a background in the independent music sector.

GARRY CAMPBELL

Garry is currently Metadata Service Delivery Manager, BBC Information and Archives.

He is formerly Head of BBC Regional Archives.

PROFESSOR KRISTA COWMAN

Krista is Professor of History at the University of Lincoln

AMANDA HUNTLEY

Amanda runs the Huntley Archives, a commercial film library established in London by her father, John Huntley and now based in rural west Herefordshire

PROFESSOR RAY JOHNSON MBE

Ray is an Emeritus Professor at Staffordshire University formerly professor of Film Heritage and Documentary.

PROFESSOR PAUL LONG

Paul is Professor in Media and Cultural History at Birmingham City University.

He has written about class, culture, soundscapes, radio and popular music as well as the cultural politics of the City of Birmingham. He also edits a site dedicated to the work of filmmaker Philip Donnellan.

STEVE SHARMAN

Steve is Chief Technical Officer at Mediasmiths.

Formerly Chief Architect, Media and entertainment at IBM, Steve co-founded Mediasmiths, a systems integrator and technology consultancy with a focus on convergence within the media and entertainment markets.

PROFESSOR DAVID SLEIGHT

David is Dean of Public Engagement at the University of Lincoln and represents the University on the board.

He was, as Dean of the Faculty of Media, Humanities and Technology, instrumental in bringing MACE to Lincoln.

PHILIP YOUNGSON

Phil is Production Specialist, Broadcast, at ITV in Birmingham.

He is ITV’s nominee on MACE’s board and is one of MACE's most regular contacts at ITV in the Midlands.
