MACE holds over 60,000 titles relating to the rich historical and cultural heritage of the midlands, but many of the themes and events taking place are common to the UK and beyond. This is why our collections can be a rich resource for archive producers, curators and filmmakers who wish to illustrate and enhance their productions with archive images.

PRIVATE COLLECTIONS
MACE holds a variety of private collections, both amateur and professional, including many fabulous home movie collections, some in colour, which depict family life, big events in history and industry, dating back to 1897.
ITV CENTRAL REGIONAL COLLECTION
MACE holds the news and documentaries of ITV Central from 1956 to 1994, with access to material up to 2001. This includes Midlands News (1956 to 1964) ATV Today (1964 to 1983) Central News (1983 to 2001) as well as some fabulous documentaries including the 1970s series England Their England.
LICENSING FOOTAGE
Subject to copyright clearances, MACE can licence footage from its private collections to media professionals and businesses, and all income is fed directly back into our charitable aims of preserving the collections and connecting individuals and communities with their screen heritage.
ITN Source licence material from the ITV Central Regional material and MACE supply the material for a transfer and access fee. As MACE hold the catalogue information, initial search enquiries, including viewing screener requests are made to MACE and licensing is then referred to ITN Source.
