You can view over 4000 clips of material relating to the rich culture and history of the Midlands on this site, but there are still over 55,000 titles held on film. MACE does not own the copyright to material held in its collections, but we may, subject to copyright permission, be able to supply you with a DVD of material from the collections for a gift for a loved one or a personal keepsake.
We call this our Bespoke DVD Service.
HOW TO PURCHASE A BESPOKE DVD
- Browse the collections and CONTACT US with a list of material you wish to order. Please list the full titles, including the date of the title.
- You will be provided a quote and be asked whether you wish to proceed
- We will seek copyright permission from the title rights holder
- If clearance is granted we will email an invoice and a short agreement for you to sign to confirm you will only use the footage for home viewing.
- We currently accept payments for Bespoke DVDs by cheque, internet bank transfer or Paypal. Payment instructions will be included on your invoice.
- Once payment is received we will book a transfer and advise you of a despatch date.
PRICE and DELIVERY TIME
The Bespoke DVD Service is a lengthy process involving up to 3 members of staff. Film is retrieved from our archive store, prepared for transfer (which can include fixing joins in the film and cleaning), transfered using our Flashtransfer and encoded onto a DVD.
As it is a specialist service involving experienced members of staff, despatch of a Bespoke DVD can take up to 7 working days.* It is also more expensive than purchasing a DVD from a retail outlet as it is not mass produced. Your DVD maybe unique - the only one ever made.
*Due to our recent move to the University of Lincoln, the waiting time for bespoke DVD transfer is currently 4 Weeks

**The prices below are for guidance only. We estimate that it takes an hour to transfer 15 minutes of footage but this can depend on the length of the titles (eg. if a selection of titles of short duration are ordered, it can take longer to prepare them for transfer) .
