Summary Four recent Midlands News items re-edited for Midland Montage: Children's party at cinema; new Daimler bus; parks police; and RAC hillclimb at Kinver.
Description 1. We see children attending a Christmas party at the ABC cinema on Bristol Road in Birmingham. Father Christmas is seen arriving outside in a vintage car with a banner advertising the ABC Minors (a children's club run by the ABC cinema chain). Inside we see ATV personality Jean Morton with a clown and someone dressed as Mickey Mouse and then a quick shot of children seated in the cinema. 2. A prototype Daimler Fleetline rear engined bus is seen on show at a bus depot in Birmingham. 3. A new dog patrol to combat hooliganism and vandalism in a park in Birmingham. We see a group of young people are seen running into an unidentifed park. After a close up of a 'Please Keep of the Grass' sign a park keeper is seen talking to them. The youths are next spotted playing football. A quick shot of another sign 'Parks Police' and then the youths are seen running away knocking over a bench as they go. The final shot is of the parks police officers with a dog wrestling a man to the ground. (It can be assumed that these shots were staged for the camera). 4. Drivers competing in an off road hill climbing event at Kinver. They are seen struggling up a steep and muddy hill.
