Notes

The yearly parade of the Heart of Oak in Fownhope is always called the club walk - the club was a 'Friendly Society' which used to help members in times of illness or unemployment before National Insurance schemes. Now it is just a social club retaining the club walk each year. It still organises a Bonfire night most years and other occasional events.
